A genius man ended up killing 3 and injuring other 23 other people. Yeah ! this is what Ted Kaczynski is known for , mailing bombs and killing people to send some message to the world. It took FBI nearly 2 decades to catch him.

The unabomber was a genius but only used his knowledge to cause destruction and chaos to oppose the industrial society which was growing at a rapid rate at that time.

After reading some information and watching the Netflix series Manhunt:Unabomber which was made on his life , I was instantly attracted and wanted to know what his thoughts are ( leaving the killings aside )about the industrial society.

According to the unabomber’s manifesto industrial society has made life unfulfilling and increased psychological sufferings, controlling the very soul of humans. It also caused a lot of damage to the natural world. It also states that humans and many other living organisms are turning into engineered products and thus loosing the purpose of their being. He further adds that growing or even breaking up of the industrial system will cause a lot of pain. He also calls out for a revolution against the industrial system and developing technology.

I find it very interesting to get to know a person who criticized the industrial world when everyone were just obeying ! I believe industrial system has its own good and bad sides but we should at least have a pause and give ourselves a thought that what is the cost that the world is paying for bringing ease to people’s life with the industrial development ?

I do not support the violent statement and actions of the Unabomber but I do feel we should at least not ignore what he was trying to point out .

The Unabomber in his personal life lived almost without the help of industrial system and technologies. He was good in mathematics and was a scholar , who also built a small cabin and lived in the remote areas of Montana without running water or electricity.

His cabin is currently kept in the Newseum, Washington DC .

He was clearly on a fight with the negatives of the industrial world and thus he targeted universities and institutions which gave him the name UNABOMBER .

I think in the end he became what he was trying to fight !
